THE WITTY INVESTOR

How We Make Money

The Witty Investor is an independent review site run by one person, Adam Kesterson. Here is every way the site makes money, or will, and the rules that do not move.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up for a product through one, the company may pay The Witty Investor a referral fee. Depending on the program, that can happen when you click, open an account or fund it. It costs you nothing extra. Right now a few posts link to TradingView this way. Other programs will be added as they approve the site, and every post with affiliate links says so at the top.

Deals

The Deals page lists bonuses and free trials from brokerages and investing tools. Each offer is checked against the company’s own offer page. Today those links go straight to the companies and pay nothing.

Advertising

The site may run display ads in the future. Ads will be clearly separate from reviews, and no advertiser gets a say in a verdict.

If a company ever pays for an article or video, it will be labeled “Sponsored” at the top, and sponsored content never carries a PASS, WAIT or SKIP verdict.

What money never buys

  • A better verdict. A SKIP stays a SKIP, partner or not.
  • A higher spot in a list. Rankings follow the four checks: the fee schedule, the exit costs, who it is for and what it is not.
  • A hidden link. Every affiliate link is disclosed on the page where it appears.

The full review method is on How I Review, and the legal version is the Affiliate Disclosure.
